It's an interesting idea, but it puts identity providers into the role of messaging system adminstrators. I'm sure Microsoft and Yahoo would love that, but do Vidoop and JanRain and Automattic want to manage messaging? Maybe they do. All your text are belong to us, and such.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure that identity provider should == messaging infrastructure provider. On the other hand, a flexible messaging provider that integrated with an identity provider would be lovely.
